wedding wednesday

1. Beer Tasting, 2. Chair and Shoes. 3. Escort Wall, 4. Magnolia Leaf, 5. Gold Flatware, 6. Large Floral Table Runner 7. Chevron Coasters, 8. Cake, 9. Cheese Display, 10. Beignets in Paper.

In honor of my brother's upcoming wedding, I just had to share their amazing wedding planner's, Anne Book, inspiration board.

The hardest thing for the bride to decide on was color. Once she decided on shades of blue, teal and gold, Anne worked her magic, and created this beauty. I think color is such an important part of a wedding, and if their October 6th nuptials are anything like this board, I'll be in for a real treat.

P.S. I'm over on Luxury Garage Sale's blog today talking about my personal style. I recently consigned with them and made some serious $$$ - I HIGHLY recommend their services.

swoon with me!

After months of hard work, dedication and planning, ever swoon is open for business! Tamra has been secretly plotting ways to make us swoon, and the site does NOT disappoint. I feel honored, and lucky to have helped in this process, and that I can not only call Tamra a boss, but also a dear friend. Before we started working together I knew she was a brilliant woman, with lots of sparkly goodness up her sleeve. However, she has blown me away with her integrity, patience and ambition, and I cannot wait to continue on this journey with her.

Congrats, Tamra! Get ready to pop the bubbly and #dancetildawn.

ever swoon is a boutique event planning and styling company offering custom packages designed to tell your story, excited your guests and allow all to dance 'til dawn.

An exciting part of ES will be the blog, Studio Swoon that will highlight all of life's celebrations from proposal stories to engagement fĂȘtes and every love story in between.

I hope you put on your sparkle, pop a bottle of champagne, and share your thoughts on Twitter using the hashtag #dancetildawn.

Happy Swooning!

weekend recap: saying yes to the dress!

I had a MAJOR weekend.

Seriously major.

My brother's fiancée was in town to go to Kleinfelds and find a dress. AND SHE DID! It was the most perfect morning we could have asked for, and I've never seen her look more beautiful. While I obviously can't reveal the dress, just start a countdown now for October 6th -- your mouths will drop.

Oh, and Diane from the show was our consultant. It was so so so cool.

Saturday night we ate in SoHo at a cute little italian place. I got a white pizza with truffle oil - still drooling.

shaved truffles. I don't think there is ANYTHING better.

We then stumbled across the opening of Georgetown Cupcake and each got a FREE one. Oh and they had a pink sparkly Kitchenaid mixer. I want one.

I did a little shopping and saw The Vow with my girlfriends on Sunday. I won't give it away -- but I can really only give it a B rating.

And I leave with you with Penny Lane just waking up from a nap. Doesn't get more precious.

She said YES!

After MONTHS of secrets, my brother FINALLY proposed to his amazing girlfriend! We all knew it was coming, and it was nearly impossible to keep the secret. He took her to Beaver Creek and proposed after a 2 hour hike. Awe. He then had a private cabin in the mountains with champagne and a catered lunch by the Ritz. Are you crying yet? I am.

Well, after the surprise engagement, he continued to surprise her by flying out my parents and hers. Tears? You bet.

THEN, to top it all off, my sister and I, and her two brothers flew out Friday morning to continue the surprises. I think her knees are still weak, and it's Monday. She is the most amazing person, and I'm SO excited to get another big sister.

We had the most amazing weekend at the Ritz Carlton (lucky me!) and now I'm back to work, but feeling very blessed and refreshed.

Here are some pictures of my perfectly fall, mountain weekend getaway.

Vail Village -- reminded me of my trip to Interlaken, Switzerland

My Dad and I did not pack the right shoes for the spa -- but my sister did.

Engagement celebration dinner at Kelly Liken -- Top Chef finalist.

She made a custom menu -- amazing.

First course -- arugula and pear salad.

Dinner -- gypsum beef with bbq tomatoes and other goodness. woa.

Dessert -- her famous sticky bun sundae w/ homemade cotton candy. HOLY MOLY.

And here is what the puppy was doing back home in Chicago. Silly dog.

Happy Monday!
